A Discussion on Character
Do you know that the origin of the word “character” actually means to stamp or engrave? We are “engraving” character in our own and others’ hearts and minds with every human interaction. Without having a well-understood, purposeful method on how to think about character, it will develop on its own in good---or not so good---ways. But character doesn’t form in a vacuum. It’s essential that individuals truly understand and focus on what character means to them and how to consistently teach it and stay whole to it. We are accountable for our own character and have a role and responsibility in holding others accountable. The deeper our understanding, the more effective we will be. If interest warrants, this could be the start of a multi-part discussion.
