The state is going through hard times, and public library funding will shrink during this tough economic period. Delaware County District Library is fortunate that voters approved local operating funds in the May election. Cuts in state funds to our library will not affect plans to build the new Orange Branch. But the library board will have to monitor finances closely to make sure that all new services can be sustained with the funding available.
