Celebrating America 250 at the Delaware County District Library
July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, known as the Semiquincentennial. Join the Delaware County District Library as we host exhibits, share books, and provide programming to honor 250 years of United States history. This webpage provides information about library activities as well as local and statewide events and resources connected to the America 250 celebration across Ohio.
OHIO’s Homecoming & Picnic
Saturday, July 11, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. | Orange Branch
Orange Imagination Garden, Orange Programming Room
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and join your neighbors in the Imagination Garden for a picnic! The first 50 families in attendance will receive a celebration kit from the America 250-Ohio commission. (While supplies last.) Musical performance by the Central Ohio Symphony at 2 P.M. Historical figure Ida B. Wells and Sacagawea will be attending the picnic. Chat with them to learn about their American experiences!
The picnic will be opened with remarks from Delaware County Commissioner Jeff Benton and Orange Township Trustee Erica Fouss at 1:30PM.
Lawn games will include:
– Giant Connect 4
– Cornhole
Bring your own snacks or enjoy for from local food trucks. Food Trucks expected to attend:
– Sticky Fingers Ice Cream
– Kat’s Kraft BBQ Food Truck
– Taquitos Food Truck
