Zion UCC, Delaware
A Place of Warmth
A Place of Warmth at Zion will be open tonight as a warming shelter. During the Library’s regular operating hours, all locations also serve as warming and charging centers.
A Place of Warmth is an overnight warming center located at Zion United Church of Christ at 51 W. Central Ave. in Delaware, at the corner of Franklin St & W. Central Ave. There are no fixed dates on which it operates. Instead, the chief coordinator monitors temperatures and alerts community partners when forecasts call for temperatures below 20° F. Notifying sandwich boards can be seen at Zion UCC, Andrews House, Delaware Branch Library, Delaware City Hall, and Delaware City Fire Department main station.
To always know if A Place of Warmth is activated for the night, look for the yellow and black sandwich boards in downtown Delaware or check the Delaware County Emergency Management Facebook page.
