It’s the Spring of STEAM at DCDL! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, and you’ll find lots of programs in the coming weeks celebrating these topics.

Science is everywhere, and science is for everyone. The COSI Science Festival, taking place April 29 through May 2, builds a diverse STEAM workforce and closes the STEAM skills gap by exposing individuals to science and technology where they live, learn, and lounge. DCDL has planned lots of STEAM focused-programs this spring to bring the magic and learning of COSI to the Library.

Specifically, we’re excited to welcome back Dr. Dave with Whiz Bang Science to have us Learn about the Moon Landing at the Liberty Branch on April 29!

We’re also sponsoring Main Street Delaware’s May First Friday to bring the fun of science to the streets! As Delaware’s Community STEAM Event for the COSI Science Festival, the Library will be passing out COSI Learning Lunchboxes to the first 400 children at the Bookmobile that evening. Learning Lunchboxes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and children must be present with their adult to take a Lunchbox.
