Delaware Source Expands Free Access to Local News
The Delaware County District Library (DCDL) is partnering with Delaware Source to give library cardholders free, unlimited access to independent local news at all DCDL locations.

Through the partnership, patrons can access Delaware Source, as well as Richland Source, Ashland Source and Knox Pages, while visiting one of the library’s five branches and connected to DCDL’s wireless internet or logged in to a library computer. The collaboration expands access to local reporting on government, education, business, public safety, arts and culture, events, and community stories that keep residents informed and connected.
“The Delaware Source is a welcome addition to our available news resources for our patrons,” said Joe O’Rourke, DCDL adult services and collections coordinator. “Their news coverage will deliver on the Library’s promise to provide access and information as we open doors to knowledge and discovery in the community.”
Delaware Source is part of the Source Media Properties network, which operates independent local newsrooms serving communities across north-central Ohio. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to making reliable local information more accessible through trusted community institutions while sustaining the reader-supported journalism that makes that coverage possible.
“Libraries are one of the most important gathering places in any community, and we’re proud to work alongside the Delaware Library system to make local news easier to reach,” said Brittany Schock, regional editor for Delaware Source. “Informed communities are stronger communities.”
Library cardholders can access the news sites at any Delaware Library District Library location. More information is available at www.delawarelibrary.org/researche.
