COSPLAY Information

Get into character! 

Cosplay is a big part of every single Great GeekFest, with prizes to be won, friends to impress, and creativity to put on display so start planning now. Rules and policies are currently being crafted.

(noun) : the activity or practice of dressing up as a character from a work of fiction (such as a comic book, video game, or television show)
 
(verb) intransitive : to engage in cosplay
Great GeekFest patrons dressed up in their favorite fantasy character.

Kids Cosplay Parade

  • When: 4:30pm-5pm
  • Line Up Begins: 4:15pm
  • For Ages 12 and under
  • No Registration

Kick off Great GeekFest with a Kids Cosplay Parade! Children ages 0-12 can share their costumes as they walk across the stage. All participating children will get a special Great GeekFest sticker.

  • Lineup Begins: 4:15 pm
  • Parade Begins: 4:30 pm

Teen Cosplay Contest

  • When: 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Line Up Begins: 5:15pm
  • For Ages 13-17
  • Registration Required

Participants will showcase their costumes to local judges and Great GeekFest participants.

Cosplays will be judged based on:

  • Overall quality of construction
  • Accuracy of representation/embodiment of one’s chosen character
  • Presentation of cosplay

One winner will be chosen and will receive a prize basket. Other outstanding submissions may be highlighted through the Library’s social media.

  • Line-up Begins: 5:15 pm
  • Contest Begins: 5:30 pm

Registered participants will be sent a Google Form to complete about their cosplay costume. Please note that registration closes 24 hours before the event. Please read the rules and details of the Great GeekFest.

Adult Cosplay Contest

  • When: 7pm-8pm
  • Line Up Begins: 6:45pm
  • For Ages 18+
  • Registration Required

Participants will showcase their costumes to local judges and Great GeekFest participants.

Cosplays will be judged based on:

  • Overall quality of construction
  • Accuracy of representation/embodiment of one’s chosen character
  • Presentation of cosplay
