New Comic Books & Graphic Novels on Libby
The Delaware County District Library has added some POW! to our digital collection with an upgraded Ohio Digital Library package of 2,800 comic books and graphic novels for our readers to choose from. These titles can be accessed by visiting the Ohio Digital Library or through the Libby app.
This Library Card Sign-Up Month, take advantage of the digital resources your library card grants you access to. The comic and graphic novel collection has options from DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, Image Comics, IDW, VIZ Media, and many more!
Comics and graphic novels give the extra benefit of reaching reluctant readers who’ve been hesitant to try traditional books, ebooks & audiobooks. They appeal to all ages with a variety of titles that readers of all ages will enjoy.
Some of the youngest readers will be excited to see graphic novels like Dav Pilkey’s “Dog Man” series, books by Raina Telgemeier, and the graphic novel reboot of “The Baby-Sitters Club” series.
Teens entering the study of the classics may find them easier to consume in graphic format. Searching the Ohio Digital Library website, you’ll find the “Classics to Graphics” section full of graphic novelizations of Shakespeare, Orwell, Bronte and more.
Classic comics lovers will be excited to see old favorites like Peanuts make an appearance in “Peanuts Revisited: Favorites Old and New” by Charles M. Schulz. Dilbert, Garfield, ToxTrot and Jim Borgman’s “Zits” crew drop by for the party, too.
Comic and graphic novel lovers should add Saturday, October 9 to their calendar now as it is the Delaware County District Library’s annual Great GeekFest all ages comic-con. Back again for another virtual year, we have an entire day of content planned on our YouTube channel, including popular Cosplay Contest. Start crafting your costume now and submit your photo by Friday, October 1.
