Teens (ages 13-17), Let Freedom Read this summer and grab some books to find adventure, broaden your mind or get lost in the pages of something new. Also, don’t forget to get out and attend some library programs. Remember, any combination of four books read or programs attended will earn Summer Reading Club participants a book of their choice! Additional completed bookmarks are entries into our prize basket drawing.

Schiffel’s Safety Scholars is a summer program and contest sponsored by the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office.

“You Be the Artist” Billboard Design Contest is open to middle and high school aged students in Delaware County. Click here to download the contest flier.All entries are due July 31, 2026.

  • The design must include a message about why drugs/ alcohol/ vaping/ tobacco/ marijuana are bad for kids
  • The winning billboard will be displayed on William St. beginning September 7, 2026
  • If drawing, please use the box on the reverse side of this flyer
  • If creating a digital design, please use the template scale of 1 inch = 1 foot @ 216 ppi and save the file as a PDF in high resolution format. Then email the design to borsini@co.delaware.oh.us.
  • Drawings can be turned into your local library or mailed/dropped off to the Prosecutor’s Office at 145 N. Union Street, 3rd Floor, Delaware, OH 43015
  • All entries due July 31

Pick up a bookmarkreading log from your local Delaware County District Library branch, from our summer “Check it Out” newsletter or download a bookmark now.

Whether you like books, comics, eBooks, audiobooks, or being read to by a family member or a friend, remember all of that counts toward your summer reading total!

Prizes may be picked up from June 2 – July 31. Summer Reading Club and read-on bonus prizes vary and will be limited as supplies are available.

Fill out a bookmark with any combination of four books read or DCDL programs attended. After you’ve completed your first bookmark, stop by your local DCDL branch to turn it in and receive a book of your choice!

Want more chances to win prizes? Fill out additional bookmarks! For every additional bookmark completed, you’ll earn entries into our prize basket drawing.

The Summer Letterbox Adventure begins in your local parks on SATURDAY, MAY 23. Get ready to win a fun prize pack just by exploring parks close to home. Find at least 4 letterboxes at any park to win a prize, while supplies last.

July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, known as the Semiquincentennial. Join the Delaware County District Library as we host exhibits, share books, and provide programming to honor 250 years of United States history.
