Teens (ages 13-17), Let Freedom Read this summer and grab some books to find adventure, broaden your mind or get lost in the pages of something new. Also, don’t forget to get out and attend some library programs. Remember, any combination of four books read or programs attended will earn Summer Reading Club participants a book of their choice! Additional completed bookmarks are entries into our prize basket drawing.

Schiffel’s Safety Scholars is a summer program and contest sponsored by the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office.

This year’s theme has not been announced.

Pick up a reading log or bookmark from your local Delaware County District Library branch, from our summer “Check it Out” newsletter or clicking this link to download one now. Whether you like books, comics, eBooks, audiobooks, or being read to by a family member or a friend, remember all of that counts toward your summer reading total!

Prizes may be picked up from June 2 – July 31. Summer Reading Club and read-on bonus prizes vary and will be limited as supplies are available.

Fill out a bookmark with any combination of four books read or DCDL programs attended. After you’ve completed your first bookmark, stop by your local DCDL branch to turn it in and receive a book of your choice!

Want more chances to win prizes? Fill out additional bookmarks! For every additional bookmark completed, you’ll earn entries into our prize basket drawing.

Join the Preservation Parks’ for their annual Summer Letterbox Adventure.

Beginning this summer you can register online at the Preservations Parks' website, or pickup a guidebook at the any Delaware County District Library (DCDL) branch. Your guidebook provides clues that will take you on an adventure to explore different parks around Delaware County.

July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, known as the Semiquincentennial. Join the Delaware County District Library as we host exhibits, share books, and provide programming to honor 250 years of United States history.
